Terry's Testimony

Today's #TestimonialTuesday is on Terry, Client Support Worker at our Journey to Recovery program - the same program he went through to find recovery himself.
Terry began using substances and drinking alcohol recreationally in his 20s. His lifestyle quickly went from him being in control, to being controlled by his addictive disease. This led to years of struggles with employment, housing, and strained relationships with loved ones.
"I lost everything slowly," Terry says. "The disease took over."
Ready to find help, Terry was introduced to a counselor at Journey to Recovery, our residential treatment program, in 2017. He successfully completed the program and spent the following months transitioning to a life of indepence and stability. After seeing all of his success, Terry was offered a job at Journey to Recovery in 2022.
"It's not a job, it's a calling," Terry says. "I receive joy from seeing others come in here and get their life back."
We are so proud of Terry and the amazing progress we've seen him make on his personal path to recovery. We are thankful to have him on our team serving others just beginning on that same path!
