New Horizons Responds to Hurricane Irma

Posted on Sep 12, 2017 at 0:00 AM

New Horizons responded to the behavioral health needs of evacuees at the Columbus Civic Center, Frank. D. Chester and Shirley B. Winston Recreation Centers by providing counseling and comfort to those who fled their homes in Florida as the storm approached.  Staff braved the weather and road conditions with the goal of helping others.

"Putting the needs of others first is the greatest indicator of the dedication of our counselors, nurses, doctors and staff at New Horizons,"  said Andrea Winston, Executive Director.

New Horizons Behavioral Health will continue to work with the evacuees and the local chapter of the American Red Cross until the emergency shelters are officially closed.
